This is part of our UNG program, a free art and culture offering for young people! Space is limited, so it’s a good idea to arrive early. First come, first served!
UNG After Hours invites you to a unique evening where you can explore a dynamic mix of music, food and workshops in an intimate setting. By transforming the museum into a vibrant space for community, we want to inspire creativity!
September and October are curated by the collectiv Sepkter.
Spekter is a movement by and for young creatives. Founded and run by a passionate team of dynamic young artists and cultural producers, Spekter is a community. Their mission is to nurture a vibrant meeting point for like-minded individuals – fostering connection, inspiration, and collaboration. Through events and immersive experiences, they aim to bring young creative people together and build a platform where ideas can flourish and friendships grow.
GAZE (verb) — to look steadily and intently, with great curiosity, interest, pleasure, or wonder.
How often do we really engage with the art, music, and conversations around us?
GAZE is an invitation to slow down. To listen. To question. To exchange ideas. To let thoughts live beyond a passing scroll through the algorithm.
For this edition of After Hours, Spekter creates space for talks, workshops, curated listening sessions, and more — all designed to train the gaze.
The upcoming events:
October 7th: a panel talk with voices from the music scene in Oslo, reflecting on consumption of and engagement with music today.
Introducing the panel:
Morstaq is an Oslo-based DJ and artist. She has performed at several festivals and stages throughout the country and opened for artists including Regal86, DJ LAG, Chrystallmess, Conducta, and Omagoqa. Cute yet unpredictable, her sets embrace a “we listen, we don’t judge” ethos—creating a club space where boundaries dissolve and the music is not just heard but felt. A key figure in the tastemaking collective NARA (Nordic Afro Rave Association).
Ali Omar is co-founder of Spekter and manager at Nora Collective. He has been instrumental in developing some of the most exciting new voices in Norwegian music, such as Bargee, Makosir, Malik, and Natnael. He also oversees Nora Collective’s producer roster, featuring Axxe, Filip Kollsete, and Andreas Bache-Wiig to mention some.
Nora Mamdu is a DJ, club organizer and cultural practitioner with over a decade of experience in the music industry, both on stage and behind the scenes. She has worked as an A&R at Universal Music, booking consultant for Øyafestivalen, and as a radio host at NRK. She is the founder of NARA creating authentic spaces and opportunities for underrepresented music, club, and cultural expressions—while linking Oslo’s community to broader international networks.
Tobias Lisø is a 22-year-old A&R and co-owner of Gladstone Music Group. He has contributed to nearly 50 charting songs, including eight #1 hits. He has also been running his own label, Liso Records, for three years, and has played a role in the success of artists including Ballinciaga, Stig Brenner, Arif, Roc Boys, Astrid S, Ylva, Soppgirobygget, and more.
Moderating the conversation we have Nora Pagu. Oslo-based sommelier, economist and DJ with roots in Bergen and Bodø. She serves as a board member of Oslo World, contributing to one of Norway’s leading platforms for global music and culture. Nora is also a part of NARA.
October 21st: we close the GAZE series with a collective listening session inviting local producers, artists, and DJs to showcase their work.
Each presentation opens up the music from within through stories of process, inspiration, and intention. Alongside the listening, you’ll be invited to take part in small tasks designed by the artists themselves, creating new ways of engaging with sound together.
Two different nights, two different approaches – both exploring how we see, hear, and share music together.
Tune in and take part.
