The women behind Shillet Benat – Sara Mreihil and Sipel Rachid – are opening the doors to Art Club in collaboration with MUNCH Ung: After Hours.

Through art, Shillet Benat aims to bring people together and create space for community, inspiration, and the joy of creating. Over the past year, they have hosted a number of workshops and exhibitions in Oslo, all centered around celebrating diversity. Their friendship grew from a shared passion for art, and together they share a vision of art as a bridge between people from different backgrounds and life experiences.

Program 13.05.25:

Now, Shillet Benat is excited to invite you to a creative evening at MUNCH Café! For our first gathering, we’ll explore the theme of identity. We’re thrilled to be joined by Maliha Anas, who will lead a collage art workshop, and Aon Ali Naqvi, who will inspire us with poetry. Join us for an evening of collaborative art-making and creative exploration!
We offer a relaxed and inclusive atmosphere, with access to materials, snacks, and drinks. This is an alcohol-free event.

About the Workshop
In this workshop, you’ll get to explore a wide selection of catalogs from Norwegian cultural heritage and the pop/hip-hop scene to vintage international magazines. Using collage as a method, we invite you to take ownership of the culture that surrounds us and create your own unique interpretation.

The evening includes open conversations on how we can express ourselves through art and poetry, as well as discussions on what multicultural identity means to us. The dialogue will be led by artist Maliha Anas, in collaboration with poet Aon Ali Naqvi, who brings depth and inspiration to the discussion.
We’ll conclude with the opportunity for participants to include their work in a collective fanzine, a memento from the evening and a piece of our shared cultural heritage.

About the Artists
Maliha Anas is an artist and legal professional with a background in human rights and copyright law. She is particularly engaged in how art, freedom of expression, and legal frameworks intersect. Maliha has explored the creative and political potential of remix culture, both as an artistic method and as a tool to amplify minority voices. Through mixed media, she explores identity across languages, places, and cultural heritage drawing inspiration from punk and goth subcultures to Japanese illustrations, Mughal art, and Norwegian nature. She has spent several years creating inclusive and creative spaces in both Oslo and London.
Aon Ali Naqvi is a writer who finds himself caught between art and capitalism, adulthood and the artist’s life. His inspiration isn’t tied to one thing sometimes it’s roots and ancestry, other times it’s anger or frustration. Whatever it is, it has led him to create everything from clothing and jewelry to books and poetry.

Program 22.04:

Join us for the very last After Hours curated by Safario, a one-of-a-kind evening where live music meets creative expression. Instead of drawing people or things, we’ll be capturing what can’t be seen; auras, emotions, and energy. Live musicians will set the vibe, and you’ll be invited to let your pen (or brush!) express whatever you're feeling in the moment. No need to be an artist just come as you are and go with the flow.

After Hours is all about community and creating something together, so we’ll wrap up the night by making a big collaborative artwork.
And don’t worry After Hours isn’t over! In May and June, a young, creative, and culture-savvy group will be curating the events, and we can’t wait to introduce them to you.

Program 25.03:

We invite you to join us After Hours, where we will paint a custom design directly onto a totebag or a t-shirt. There is a limited number of materials, so be sure to arrive early.

This workshop will focus on colour theory and painting on textiles. Colour is one of the most powerful tools in art. It can convey emotions, create harmony, and serve as the focal point of a piece. In this workshop, we will explore colour theory to help you understand how to use colour intentionally, as well as teach you how to paint on textiles.

Everyone will have the opportunity to sketch out their design before fully committing. We will provide t-shirts and tote bags for participants to create their own unique art pieces to wear.

Program 18.03:

We want to invite you to a night of exploring drawing as an art form and all the ways you can create. We hope that throughout the evening, you'll learn a few techniques and have fun. We promise to provide a relaxing environment, a sense of community, materials, as well as snacks and drinks. This is an alcohol-free event.

About the workshop: We will explore basic drawing techniques, including drawing portraits. You’ll learn about proportions, perspective, anatomy, and more. In addition to individual learning, we will come together to create a collective artwork on a large canvas. The workshop will be inspired by themes in Safario`s music.

The young multidisciplinary artist Kacper Błażej Tratkowski, known as Safario, invites you to Art Club in collaboration with Munch Ung: After Hours. Kacper is deeply passionate about community and togetherness, and is a well-known figure when it comes to bringing like-minded artists together to explore new creative adventures.
Safario himself has been deeply engaged in painting over the past year. Since he started painting just over a year ago, he has been on an exciting journey of discovery in the world of visual arts, alongside his musical work.

With a new album on the way and a festival summer ahead, Safario is just as passionate about helping others find their own artistic voice and create more authentic art from the heart.

The goal of the evenings is to promote new ideas, meet new people, create together, and build a stronger and more connected artistic community in the city.
